Monasteries

Plum Village is Thich Nhat Hanh’s home monastery in southern France. This rich website provides information about Plum Village and Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings.

European Institute of Applied Buddhism located in Waldbrol, Germany offers courses and retreats.

 

There are three monasteries in the U.S. practicing in Thich Nhat Hanh's tradition. Each hosts retreats and welcomes visitors.

Blue Cliff Monastery is in Pine Bush, New York, not far from New York City.

Deer Park Monastery is in Escondido, California, south of Los Angeles.

Magnolia Grove Monastery is in Batesville, Mississippi

 

Resources from the Greater Sangha

The Mindfulness Bell is the three times a year magazine of the Plum Village sangha. They also maintain a list of U.S. Sanghas practicing the Plum Village tradition.

Parallax Press has published most of Thay's over 100 titles.

Order of Interbeing Tiep Hien in Vietnamese is a community of monastics and lay people who have committed to living their lives in accord with the Fourteen Mindfulness Trainings. Founded in Vietnam by Thay in 1966.

Wake Up is an active global community of young mindfulness practitioners, aged 18-35, inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh.

Thich Nhat Hanh Dharma Talks is collection of talks given by Thay from around the world. Mostly video from 2009 to present. This site has a useful index of talks by topic and category.

The Deer Park Dharmacast is collection audio talks given by Thay, monastics, and dharma teachers at Deer Park Monastery.
